Take the steak out of the fridge at least 30–45 minutes before grilling to bring it to room temperature.

Grilling

Preheat your grill to 450°F–500°F (medium-high heat). Grill the steak according to your preferred doneness: for rare (120–125°F), grill for 3–4 minutes per side; for medium (135°F), grill for 5–6 minutes per side; and for well done (160°F), grill for 7–8 minutes per side. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the steak is cooked to your desired temperature. Once done, allow the steak to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F. Sear the steak in a hot pan over medium-high heat for about 2 minutes on each side, then transfer the pan to the oven. Cook for 4–5 minutes for rare, 6–7 minutes for medium, and 9–10 minutes for well done. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Pan Sear

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add some oil. Sear the steak for 3–4 minutes per side for rare, 5–6 minutes per side for medium, and 7–8 minutes per side for well done. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before serving.
