It pairs beautifully with citrus, herbs, and spices—whether served on its own, with a fresh salad, or over a bed of wild rice. The rich flavour of Sockeye Salmon can be enhanced with a glaze or a squeeze of lemon for a light, yet indulgent meal that’s packed with nutrients.
Sockeye Salmon
Heat a small amount of oil or butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the seasoned fish and cook for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden and cooked through.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Season as desired and place the fish on a baking sheet. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the flesh is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. Do not overcook to preserve tenderness and flavor.
Preheat the grill to medium heat. Lightly oil the grate and grill the seasoned fish for 3–4 minutes per side, until the flesh is opaque and flakes easily. Use a grill basket if needed to prevent sticking.
